Complete facelift…
Equipped and ready for a retail water market
How do you rebrand for a new market?
Business Stream needed a fresh identity to launch itself in the newly deregulated retail water market. It wanted an upbeat, personal feel that was appropriate for its customers – and also one that reflected their commitment to the environment.
The answer was a complete revolution of all communication tools. Retaining a link to its parent company, the Scottish Water logo ‘ripples’ were developed into a single ‘swoosh’ executed as a series of bubbles to reflect the organic nature of the company and its product.
A new set of brand values, along with innovative web and intranet sites, has helped illustrate the company's contemporary persona and customer-centric approach, as well as a full suite of literature, stationery range, internal and external signage and even van liveries – all designed and delivered with a consistent look and tone.
Changes were communicated to staff through a series of workshops. There was an immediate and positive morale boost, a 97 per cent increase in understanding and support, and a 56 per cent improvement in staff motivation and engagement.
A customer satisfaction survey has now shown that Business Stream has significantly strengthened its reputation as professional, helpful and friendly.
