The Department of Trade and Industry (now BERR) wanted to answer that question and help Britain's SMEs adopt information and communication technologies to improve their international competitiveness.
A new website housing hundreds of case studies, how-to guides and checklists provided accessible information across a spectrum of technology, from working remotely to computer-telephone integration.
In one year alone the material generated 1.6 million literature requests with over 250,000 hits a month on their website.
