QCDA – Bridging the Gap
Showcasing how four colleges are encouraging students to broaden their skills
The Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) wanted to raise the profile of Advanced Bridging Courses, which give students the numeracy, literacy and study skills they need to successfully undertake A-level or equivalent qualifications.
Over 15 minutes, the film needed to show the diversity of the courses and their suitability for vocational or academic study, demonstrating their benefits and inspiring and engaging the audience of teachers and curriculum planners.
Redhouse Lane filmed at four centres nominated by the QCDA and produced a film that told the story of the courses from the perspective of both students and teachers.
The final cut has been a great success and has been used by the QCDA in many more ways than they had anticipated.
