Following last week’s blog post, we now know who and what our new government is. Under the combined banner of blue and yellow, government departments are being renamed and rebranded. Meanwhile the media (and who hasn’t been glued to the news for the past week?) is already looking for cracks in the coalition, rumblings of discontent and predictions about how long things will last.

I waited until this morning to write a post, hoping that there’d be a clear election result to reflect on. But so far, we’re facing a hung parliament and there are still seats to declare.

The Winter Olympics were fantastic entertainment – how thrilling to see athletes risk their lives and perform spectacular feats of skill and daring, all from the comfort of your living room. I discovered the joys of Ski Cross, was in awe of the half-pipe (yes, Craig and Ben …) and was on the very edge of my seat for the ice hockey men’s finals.
