“GOOD MORNING CAPITALISM”.
That was what greeted me as I cycled the last 100m towards the front door of the office today. A hastily (and rather poorly) erected banner has been affixed to the building 2 doors down from Redhouse Lane Towers.
Now, I’m not really against the idea of people squatting disused buildings. With the cost of housing so high and so many empty properties, I do feel that there should be more effort made to make better use of the built environment before we embark on new and ever more costly construction projects.

Designers love books with big pictures and I’m no exception. A while back, I took time out to reread David Hockney’s book ‘Secret Knowledge: Rediscovering the Lost Techniques of the Old Masters’. Now I’m no great fan of Hockney as a painter but this collaborative work of research is a fascinating insight into the fact that the great masters of western art used lens and mirror technology as far back as the early 1400s to capture projected imagery of their subjects – the advent of photography was in a way a logical progression along a linear path with the exception that chemicals were used to fix the images onto paper or plate.

Content shmontent
The last few weeks all the blogs I’m signed up to (and read, of course) have been about content: content marketing, content strategy, tips for creating scintillating digital content, optimizing content, search and content … I have content coming out of my ears. Good thing, or bad thing?
