Giving more and more young people the chance to realise their potential
As part of its ongoing mission to help more and more young people realise their potential, exam board and education charity AQA launched a brand new suite of Technical Awards. We supported the launch with a series of short videos pitching these practical, vocational qualifications to teachers.
In a single efficient day of shooting, we interviewed the AQA qualification developers responsible for all nine new Technical Awards. Mostly former teachers themselves, these experts knew instinctively which elements of the new courses would most excite teachers and learners, and could speak with authentic knowledge and passion for their subjects.
Vocational qualifications had benefited from recent government reforms, making them equivalent to GCSEs both in terms of challenge for learners and performance table points for schools. We covered this good news in an overview video, encouraging teachers who might have dismissed an old-style vocational qualification to look again at AQA’s offering.
The videos appear on AQA’s website alongside more detailed information about the Technical Awards, so teachers excited by the qualification developers’ pitches can quickly find everything else they need to make a decision about delivering Technical Awards. AQA also posted the videos on its YouTube and Twitter channels, making them even easier to discover and share.
Catherine Powell, marketing manager at AQA, said: “Thanks to all at your end for all your hard work on the videos. They look great.”
