Corporate Responsibility Statement of Intent 2010

We are committed to our Corporate Responsibility policy. We believe it helps retain, motivate and recruit good people, operate in a more efficient and sustainable way and strengthens our credentials with clients.

We are putting an environmental management system in place and are on track to achieve ISO14001 accreditation – measured against international standards – with National Quality Assurance in 2010. Our work on ISO14001 is supported by the senior management team, and all staff will have a considerable impact in developing the system.

Having measured our carbon footprint, a key environmental initiative for 2010 is to set targets to significantly reduce our carbon emissions.

Target 1

  • Reduce our carbon footprint by 5% every year, from a base figure of 4.8 CO2e tonnes per employee in 2008. (CO2e is carbon dioxide equivalent, the unit of measurement for global warming potential. See also the Carbon Trust’s glossary)

Target 2

  • Cut our energy consumption by 10% by 2012

We check all of our suppliers’ environmental and sustainability credentials and follow an environmental purchasing policy wherever possible.

We also aim to raise environmental awareness among suppliers, subcontractors and staff, as well as sharing our environmental knowledge and best practises with our clients.

We also focus on sharing our time and expertise. For 2010 we’ve allocated 150 staff hours for community work.

Our future plans include work placements to help those less privileged to gain experience in the media industry and in-house events where our creatives talk to undergraduates about what it is like to work in an integrated agency, and the roles available to them.

We’ve also formed a partnership with a local youth charity that we will support over the coming year.

We welcome feedback
