Chris Baker Head of Content
Tell us some of your Redhouse Lane highlights?
Doing this interview has to be up there.
Work-wise, I loved writing for the Carbon Trust and British National Space Centre websites – I learnt a huge amount about two fascinating subjects. And on my very first project I ran focus groups for the NHS with students across the country, which was a lot of fun and very educational.
Out of the office, our weekend in Nice in 2007 was great fun. Even if I wasn't able to move my arm for several days afterwards!
What's your favourite quote?
“Behind every beautiful thing, there's been some kind of pain” – Bob Dylan

Tell us something about yourself that your colleagues don't know…
I once invented a cocktail called a Smooth Criminal. But outside the Michael Jackson annual convention, you cannot buy it anywhere.
If you had a superpower what would it be?
I can't decide between flying and breathing underwater. Can I have both?
Tell us about the last book you read…
Brideshead Revisited. it's the first Evelyn Waugh I've read, but definitely won't be the last. He has a love of language that really comes across in the way he writes, and I found it incredibly infectious. In fact I seem to be talking like Sebastian a bit too often at the moment. Next up, Crime and Punishment!
If you had the chance to publish a book, what would it be about and why?
Cheese. Always write about what you know.
Which four famous people would you invite to dine with you and why?
I knew you would ask me this. OK…Stephen Fry, because there is no better or wittier raconteur. David Attenborough, because he's seen things I never will – and I’d quite like to hear about them! Joni Mitchell, so she can lead the fireside chorus with the brandy, and Donna from the West Wing – because it's only fair if I plan to marry her.
Where is home for you?
Twickenham. Although my family are now in Reading, which is handy for when I can't quite stay awake on the fast train from Waterloo.
