For the third year running, Vodafone's razor-sharp Consumer Voice has topped its class for ‘Internal Communications’.

"Consumer Voice needed a Heat-style format to connect with the audience. Its punchy design and digestible copy has allowed Vodafone to deliver strategic messages to staff in a lively and engaging manner," said Redhouse Lane's Art Director Ross Behenna.

The judging panel commented “This is a fun publication that captures the mood of the moment, binding this distinctive audience together with an appropriate approach. Vibrancy and angled images shout 'read me' on every page.”

EDF Energy's monthly Connect magazine has had similar success over the years, so much consideration went into the first online version last year. When the digital edition scooped top prize for ‘e-zines’, there was no happier editor than Julie Isherwood.

For a long time e-zines have seemed distant cousins of their printed counterparts.

“With Connect Online it was important to blur the line between channels. Not only did the content of the online version have to match the printed version, but the design and feel had to be directly mirrored. Connect Online has brought the two areas of design closer together for us," said Tony Beresford, Head of Design, Corporate Publishing.

Craig Evans, Digital Designer, got the judges thumbs up for navigation simplicity, with a 'breadcrumb trail' exactly where you want it to be and a web design matching the printed magazine.

Running for 55 years, the annual CiB event is the most prestigious of its kind in the UK, honouring the best in corporate communications.
