Redhouse Lane creates Summer Programme for Active Stirling

Each summer, Active Stirling runs a wide range of sporting activities across Stirlingshire aimed at keeping potentially bored kids, from toddlers to mid-teens, active, healthy, happy and occupied. Having worked with Active Stirling since the creation of the trust, Redhouse Lane Scotland was briefed was to create a 24pp Summer Programme containing Special Offers, Timetables of all Central Scotland activities and Booking Forms.

Active Stirling wanted a design approach that would have immediate recognition with a strong appeal across the various younger age groups. In addition to the main programme there was also the requirement to create a smaller timetable document for activities aimed at 12 year olds and early teens.
Through the use of bright, vibrant colours and simple sporting icons to reflect each of the activities, we created a programme that would have immediate standout in busy display area.

We cut down on unnecessary and repeated information, splitting the timetables by activity rather than week as had been done historically which allowed for ‘at a glance’ accessing of information. Lively photography was used to illustrate timetables and add to the fun atmosphere that Active Stirling wanted.

To target the 12 years+ audience, we created a separate programme detailing activities specific to those age groups with a funkier approach that used graffiti based designs.

20,000, programmes were distributed to all Primary and Secondary schools within Central region. Active Stirling was delighted with the design and format and the Summer Programme was an immediate success.
